Five Ways to Wellbeing
The Government Office for Science commissioned the New Economics
foundation to review ways that people can improve their mental health
and wellbeing. They came up with 5 (CLANG may help you
remember them):
- Connect- with other people- family, local
community. Social isolation is a major contributor to ill health
- Keep Learning- throughout life, new things and
ways of doing things- a hobby, a course or an interesting book
- Be Active- find something which you enjoy and
which fits with your mobility and fitness level
- Take Notice- look at, and appreciate, what is
around you
- Give- this can be time, energy, money-
looking out for how you can do someone a good turn takes you away
from your own problems
